Description

This Russian Hill restaurant is well loved for its tapas. The dozens of hot and cold plates include grilled prawns, salt cod croquettes, poached octopus, duck with prunes, fried squid, fresh anchovies, and the perpetually popular almond-stuffed and pancetta-wrapped dates. Heartier Spanish specialties include gazpacho, oxtail stew, and seafood paella, which is made to order; the fresh-fruit sangria is sublime. The vibe is loud and buzzy, but you can opt for a table in the romantic back room.
