Okay, so we usually order a whole pie with just extra cheese and sausage, and think it's the best regular old pizza around. But we've also had (and loved!) Z's crazy Berkeley vegan pizza, with veggie burger crumbles, two white cheeses, and a tangy marinara that's to die for. Other gotta-try items include the ham and pineapple pizza, a nice combo of sweet-and-meat toppings drenched in delicious pizza sauce and green pepper flakes. Z's dough is made from certified organic wheat flour, prepared fresh every day, then hand-thrown and fire-baked until it's super crisp. This place is the home of wild toppings you won't find at any other pizza joint: pine nuts, artichoke hearts, roasted bell peppers and caramelized onions, just for starters. Amazing.
