Description

An upscale chain restaurant that doesn't feel like one, Yia Yia's offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu that makes apt use of a wood-fired oven. Pizzas are inventive, and the wood-roasted chicken is superb. The house-made desserts are also worth a go.

To call Yia Yia's a chain feels a bit like sacrilege. This is no cookie-cutter feeding trough with cutesy drinks and heat lamps and servers who address you as "bro." The only thing "chain" about Yia Yia's is the fact that, yes, there are multiple locations (although you'd have to go to Kansas City, Little Rock, Wichita or Denver to find another one). Deep in our hearts, we know chain restaurants are not a good thing for local restaurateurs. We hate those chains that disguise themselves as homegrown and part of the neighborhood when all they're peddling is mediocre fare in a homogenized setting.
