Not your Mama's Tex-Mex. Not even Mexico City, Mexican. Something all together different and definitely delicious. The $9.99 lunch special is a great way to sample several dishes. Then come back for dinner for full sized portions of your favorites. The guava cheesecake is a stand out, as is the "real" guacamole. Just don't expect the latter to be the same each time. I think it changes daily - or with the chef's mood. No matter, it has always been tasty.

Yelapa is not your run-of-the-mill Mexican joint. In fact, it offers more of a postmodern spin on traditional Mexican cuisine. Chef L.J. Wiley uses local ingredients in breathtaking ways, creating dishes that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate.
