A beloved East Side institution, family-owned since the 1930s, Yarusso-Bros. recently reopened after a devastating fire in February 2009. This place is all about pasta, big plates full of it--manicotti, mostaccioli, rigatoni--with a fragrant red sauce made with a secret recipe, delicious and slightly herbal. The pasta is served family style, and dishes can be ordered in small or large to pass around the table. Share a carafe (or two) of Chianti while you"re at it, out on the patio if it"s a nice day.
