It's sort of Hollywood to have a drink while sitting surrounded by framed film scripts, but what I like about the Writer's Bar at L'Ermitage is that it doesn't feel like trendy Hollywood at all. It's generally quiet enough to have an intimate conversation and not a fight to get a table in the lounge-y, living room type setting - which is equally comfortable for business drinks or a first date. The bartenders pour their cocktails with a heavy hand, and they have an adjacent patio for smokers to step outside for a quick puff. ALSO, God bless L'Ermitage, they don't charge for valet like most hotels - perhaps just in case you happen to be a starving writer!!
