Is it possible to drink with reckless abandon and wake up the next morning virtually hangover-free? If you were hanging out at Wogieas the night before, it just might be. Their specialtyadelicious, just-greasy-enough Philly cheese steaks ($6.25; kitchen open till almost last call)aprovides the perfect soakage for the booze in your belly. The place is as casual and down-to-earth as your average neighborhood diner, but with the ambience of an upscale lounge, and boasts surprisingly cheap beers for this part of town ($3 drafts, $4 bottles).
Located in the East village. Zagat rated, but it's still a down to earth neighborhood bar and grill. I heard about their Philly Cheese steak and how they taste as good as the ones in Philly and they are! Not greasy, and the bread is just right. Great wings and of course beer.

Just as Chase Utley unseated Placido Polanco for the second-baseman job this year, an upstart rookie has dislodged an aging veteran as the place to go for one's Eagles and Phillies phix. WOGIE'S has quickly established a foothold in the West Village with its inexpensive cheesesteaks and affable bartenders. Demerits, though, for discontinuing those $3 Philly Lagers. More »
