The result of a New Orleans-born man and a local southern Illinois woman, Who Dat's Southern Food offers the diners a menu highlighting both regions. Divided into "his" and "hers," options from the New Orleans side include jambalaya, red beans and rice, and a roast-beef po' boy. "Hers" items include a hot dog topped with pulled pork, coleslaw and barbecue sauce, and the "heater" - a grilled chicken breast sandwich in Buffalo sauce with Provel. Who Dat's also offers a kids' menu. Guests can get the feel of NOLA by taking in the décor, which features masks and beads.
We cannot get enough! Who Dat's just celebrated their 2 year anniversary in Colubmia, IL and we are so glad! They are a fantastic addition to Columbia and add a unique taste sensation for all to enjoy! They frequently have shrimp boils throughout the warmers months complete with live Cajun music and fresh shrimp from New Orleans! Their extensive menu includes some very delicious New Orleans style delicacies (the crawfish etouffee is the best around!), as well as very tasty pulled pork and chicken sandwiches. Plus their newest addition are some very unique pizzas! It's a great place with a very fun atmoshpere and the owners, Chris and Micki, go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's my local "Cheers"!
I truely miss it so much. So when I ran accross a Living Social deal on line for a Who Dat voucher for a Seafood boil and street party I was so excited and bought 1 for me and my husband and 1 for a birthday gift, the voucher had specific dates and we were not able to make any of the early ones, except for the Oct. 6th date that is tomorrow. I checked on the restaurant calendar and saw it was there, so I printed both vouchers. I went online today to get the start of the event times so I had all the details and the exact location. To my surprise the event on Oct. 6th was no longer on the restaurant calendar, so I decided to call, the 1st person I talked to said oh yeah, the voucher is messed up, both the owners are not here right now, let me see if I can get you someone to talk to about it, 2nd person says this is Micki, I said Hi Micki I have a question didn't finish explaining my issue she says that voucher is all kinds of wrong on it and I will never do business with them again(Living Social), I said Oh I'm sorry. I said, well I see the Seafood Boil is no longer on your calendar, she said your gonna have to go to our restaurant calendar and see when the next dates are, I said my voucher had Oct. 6th as the last date that is the date we can all make it and I'm looking at your calendar now, we can't make the 13th, plus it has a Shrimp boil, she says we are only going to be able to serve what is in season unless you want frozen and we don't serve that here, I said why are you being ugly to me, I'm just wanting to know what I can do to get what I purchased, I'm from the south and southern people don't talk to people like you are, she told me well since we are southern women we can be bitches, I said excuse me, what. She said do you want to know what our schedule is or not. Wow, she finished and I slammed the phone, down. I sure hope I get my money back, because I don't want to waste my gas to drive to the otherside of St. Louis to IL to try anyones food with that kinda of attitude. She sure got my cajun blood boiling, No Southern Hospitality there FO SHO, she had No apology, No sorry we will make sure you get your voucher no problems, No thank you for wanting to try our restaurant out, NOTHIN. I'm pretty sure she is not from Louisiana, cause her mama would of slapped her a few times and set her straight, maybe his mama should put her in her place.... Rude Rude Rude person...
