There's an old college saying: "Liquor before beer, you're in the clear." Whether that's true or not, the Whiskey Ward at least makes all that mixing a satisfying endeavor. There are 50-plus varieties of whiskey in this sepia-toned saloon, offering a range of choices within the bourbon, Irish whiskey, rye, single malt, and non-chill-filtered scotch families. The beer selection is far less extensive but still formidable, from Framboise (the yummy Belgian lambic raspberry concoction) to Saison DuPont (a refreshing pale ale). We suggest a new adage in their honor: "Beer and liquor cheer you up quicker."
