A ritzy alternative to the beach-bum bars at Beach Place and farther along A1A, the W Hotel's Whiskey Blue boasts a sultry décor: Low, blue lights artfully drip from the ceiling, and a muted yellow glows behind the liquor on the shelf at the horseshoe bar. The bar shape is mimicked by the half-circle, black leather couches that line the left side. The space may be small, but that's OK - it's not so much a nightclub for dancing as it is a swanky gathering spot for schmoozing. The party continues onto the patio, which wraps around the corner and offers views of the beach that confirm why you vacationed (or live) in South Florida in the first place.
