You'll definitely want to leave your inhibitions at home when visiting Whip Lounge. That's because sin is most definitely "in" at the kinky new Mill Avenue nightspot, which features a debaucherous design scheme of a slightly BDSM bent (and looks like something out of a early-'90s Nine Inch Nails video). Black leather and red velvet dominate the décor inside the place, as do a number of large black-and-white photographs tastefully depicting supple bodies teased by whips and bound by chains. Salacious words like "slap," whip," and "lick" are painted in white on each of the steps leading up to the second floor. They set the tone for naughty behavior at the club, where we've seen plenty of it during our recent visits. The dance floor is usually filled with a throng of sweaty and grinding bodies moving to a sexy mix of hip-hop and rock mash-ups spun by DJs Fashen and XXXclusive. While in the bathrooms, a partition of tinted glass separates the men from the ladies, allowing the opposite sex to spy a shadowed and silhouetted version of what's going on the other side of the loo. Meanwhile, the lounge areas are bathed in seductive red light, allowing just enough visibility for conversation or perhaps something a little more licentious. Let's just hope they call you the next day.
