Event Review: Le Scandal Burlesque
Went to Le Scandal with a group of girlfriends. Loved it!
The show is very inclusive of circus acts, burlesque striptease(both modern and classic) funny burlesque, and variety acts, and a live band. Kind of hard to describe the acts as "circus" because don't expect anything like the Big Apple Circus or Circus du Soliel. Each performer seems to have created 3 to 6 minute acts, that are very unique, skillful, and FUNNY. I've been there twice, and let me give you some examples. Keep in mind, much better to see in person. There was a hysterical guy in a monkey suit. Now this sounds so NOT funny and clique, but it was anything but, This guy showed his BUTT and was hysterical! I've seen a burlesque woman come out, sing opera really well, strip off her clothes(amazing body, too. I was jealous), and then do this outrageous act with 2 blow up dolls. I have a sick sense of humor. If you're into more classic stuff, the two times I was there, they also had very classic burlesque(feather fan dancer, classic torch singer). I enjoyed the surprise element, and the variety. Also, The West Bank Cafe, has amazingly delicious food. This isn't bar food. The venue has been in business since the 1970s. wow.

Great Show! NYC's long running variety burlesque show.
Unique and eye popping acts, a bevy of burlesque beauties, and live blues and jazz stylings.
