The menu at Graydon Carter's exclusive joint doesn't quite know whether it wants to be upscale French bistro, New England inn, or farmers market café, but this eclecticism is a virtue as far as we're concerned. There's a solid steak frites; a chicken pot pie with tons of vegetables, the flaky crust tumbling over the sides of its stoneware crock; wood-grilled mussels; and the usual goat cheese-and-beet salad. While the staff might be inclined to a certain snootiness, the food is dependable, and the three dining rooms, each with its own separate character, provide a variety of cozy seating options.

The place to be in NYC right now. Food and wine is amazing and you will see plenty of moguls and celebrity's. good luck getting in. You have to know the owner. If you can swindle a reservation it will be a great night
