Kyoto hides almost 100 little temples, tucked in among the shops and businesses, acting as tiny metropolitan breathing spaces. These mini-sanctuaries insulate visitors from the rigmarole of daily life. No such structure compares in our culture, but the Waterfall Garden Park in Pioneer Square comes as close to a municipal shrine as possible in our secular society. Completely enclosed by very tall metal gates and surrounded by greenery and rock, you might feel like you've stumbled onto some rich guy's runaway backyard, if it weren't for the rushing torrent of water that dominates the park. The noise drowns out even the most persistent bad day. This park also qualified as "best Salumi dining annex" and "best place to escape Seahawk fans."—Maggie Dutton

Interesting place...a bit strange, but not a bad place to chill out to waterfall sounds for a few min.
