The Waldorf-Astoria, housed in a beautiful landmark Art Deco building, has been synonymous with luxury since 1893. Perhaps that explains some of their stuffy rulesalike the one that says that guests must wear aproper attirea in the hotelas public spaces, like the main lobby, and warns specifically against tank tops, T-shirts, faded jeans, cutoffs, and acasual hats.a
