A wine and beer bar in Los Feliz with Italian/Brazilian food, Vinoteca Farfalla on Hillhurst tends to attract a crowd from 4 to 7 p.m – perhaps because the extensive wine list and simple selection of draft beers are all discounted. The happy hour nibbling section of the menu is sparse but enjoyable, with simple plates of prosciutto, goat cheese and mozzarella alongside ceviche or a burger. There are more extensive offerings in the evenings; they change frequently, but include Brazilian favorites like empanadas, as well as Italian specialties like risotto. The dim and inviting space is nearly ceiling to floor with wine bottles, only stopping to make room for the taps, a drink chalkboard, and the warm wooden bar that runs nearly the length of the room.
