Known for decades as the Tap Inn, the Viking still holds it down as a bar-stool oasis along a stretch of West Colfax all but abandoned by other watering holes. Yes, it's a biker bar by definition, but everyone is welcome: Regulars come in the form of blue-collar workers, lawyers, neighborhood day drinkers, and even nearby St. Anthony's Hospital nurses. Parking for bikes is designated front and center, next to an enormous patio for smoking and game-time BBQing, as the working-class joint is not shy about its Broncos pride. Truly a landmark, the rough-but-sweet staff at the Viking will happily give a Colfax history lesson to anyone who bellies up to its bar.
