Description

If Veritas Wine Room's rustic, old-world décor and dimly lit, relaxed atmosphere make the wine bar and retail shop feel more like a pub than a wine room, it's by design. Planned as a "VinoPub," Veritas was opened in the summer of 2008 on Henderson Avenue. Boasting a revolving list of 350 labels of wine, the shop's sommeliers keep a well-varied selection of 20-plus wines available by the glass. The food menu offers an array of Texas meats, cheeses and chocolates, as well as some selected imported foods. Wines aside, the casual-to-dressy neighborhood haunt is known for its heaping cheese boards and craft beers. A local gallery provides colorful artwork that lines the walls, and seating inside ranges from cozy pub tables to large communal tables to comfy armchairs.

flavored with orange zest and cognac-soaked dried currants, chef brian’s creamy pate defines decadence.

a true vinho verde, this classic portuguese wine is very slightly spritzy with zesty acidity. perfect for patio sipping on an early fall afternoon, this wine is light, lively and lots of fun!
 
Vini Di Bacco Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie
this fruity pinot grigio exhibits fantastic aromas of white flowers. fermented fully dry, this soft and accessible wine is an easy match with many cheeses, fish and chicken.
 
Kung Fu Girl Riesling Washington State

this blend of 76% cab, 14% syrah and 10% zinfandel earned a best of class award at the 2009 san fransisco chronicle wine competition. dark, black fruit aromas waft out of the glass. bright black cherry and blackberry flavors coat the palate and lead into the soft tannins of the creamy, toasty finish
 
La Planta Tempranillo
cold fermented and aged 6 months in american and french oak barrels, this tasty wine has a great aroma of smoke and meat with full flavors of plum and hints of creamy oak on the finish.
 
Saint Cosme Cotes Du Rhone
this peppery and meaty yet approachable and juicy 100% syrah is a deep, rich purple. while the ratings for the 2008 have not yet been released, the 2006 and 2007 vintages of this wine received 90 points from robert parker
