A friendly staff who'll quickly make a point of knowing your name. Karaoke seven nights a week, helmed by an amiable and fair host who won't forget about you in the rotation. And a midnight "customer of the night" drawing offering exclusive drink specials to the winners. What more could you want from a bar? How about a patio that stays warm even on the coldest winter nights, and a selection of bar food that will make you forget that cheese curds at the State Fair are half a year away? Fair enough -- Vegas Lounge has those things, too. Just don't expect a high-rolling Rat Pack vibe. Contrary to the name, this bar is as small-town as they come.

Ask any fan: Half the bars around town that feature weekend karaoke are packed by 9 p.m. If you get your request in early, you might get to sing one song. But on a busy night, don't even think about singing two. This is not the case at the Vegas Lounge, a fun bar that manages to not become overwhelmed with bar hoppers' insatiable lust for public singing. The bar is reasonably large, so singers don't have to fight for seats or request slips. On any given night, talented singers perform as... More »
