Description

The Salvadoran snacks are wonderful, if confusing: enchiladas are crisp frisbees of meat, roughage, and crema resembling Mexican tostadas, while pasteles are really empanadas with a fried masa crust. The chicken soup is superb, though the best dish is salpicon, a tart meat salad laced with pickled purple onions.
