If a chef smushed a multi-course gourmet meal between two buns, he'd end up with something like the sandwiches being served at Uneeda Burger, the immensely popular counter-service joint from Scott Staples. Burgers at this Fremont family-friendly restaurant come topped with blue cheese, watercress, shallots and porcini mushrooms, but the exquisite meat doesn't need quite so much fiddling. Order a burger with minimal toppings to better appreciate the drippy, robust beef, and don't neglect the non-burger menu: The chicken sandwich is a standout.
Really great burgers, buns are amazing, good beers on tap and the service is great. The first time I went here, my girlfriends order was lost in a jumble and we waited some time. When we asked about it after some time, they made her order up fast and gave her a coupon for a free burger and drink.
Aside from that, the food is really good. You can split an order of fries with someone, they are plenty especially when you each have your own burger and beer. I have not been to every burger place in Seattle, but a fair amount of them, and this is one of the best in town as far as I am concerned.
