Description

Southerners stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord count on Uncle Thurms Soul Food in Tacoma for home-style cooking they can't find elsewhere, including greens simmered with smoky ham hocks. The pork chops and yams alone could garner top soul-food honors in any ol' contest. Yankees up north in Seattle might do well to make the trek and see if the food really is better at the more southern latitudes.
