Description
Grab a tray and slide down the cafeteria-style line – much like the Japanese do at their udon joints. When you place your order, a scook will ask if you want tenkasu (tempura flakes, like Rice Krispies) in the bowl, or on the side. After getting your bowl, you'll make your way down to an area where you can pick up pieces of tempura, kakiage (tempura made with vegetable strips, like a fritter), or karaage (fried chicken) before paying. Be sure to splurge on the chikuwa – a tube-shaped fishcake that every Japanese cuirinselover needs to try at least once.
