Description

Twelve derives its name from its focus on a monthly menu change, highlighting seasonality as more fluid than just spring, summer, fall and winter. The spot is intimately chef-driven, with an inventive, ingredient-focused menu. Twelve is housed in a converted space in LoDo, a historic building that's easy to miss because of how well its facade blends in with its surroundings. The interior of the old spot has been redone with soft lighting, romantic table arrangements and a massive restored bar, and couples and business types convene for multi-coursed affairs beneath the quiet ambience of the room.

  • 2012 | Best By-the-Glass Wine List

Like a glistening oasis in a seemingly endless stretch of desert, twelve reaches out to thirsty foodies with what is consistently one of the town's best wine lists -- and definitely Denver's best by-the-glass list. A great by-the-glass list must be able to multi-task like a... More »

  • 2012 | Best Chef-Inspired Restaurant

It's the blind leading the blind, those people who shun Jeff Osaka's twelve because they make the mistake of assuming it resides in a so-called "sketchy" neighborhood. It doesn't. And frankly, we'd go to far worse areas just for the chance to eat a meal from the likes of Osaka. He's a serious culinary craftsman, whose commitment to cooking -- and to his fellow chefs -- is unmatched, as is his food, a deft marriage of comfort and current. Add in the fact that he offers a creative,... More »

  • 2011 | Best Bar for Fine Dining

When Jeff Osaka left Los Angeles and moved to Colorado, he started looking for a turnkey spot where he could open a restaurant, a place that just needed a little elbow grease and no extensive renovations, so that he could focus on what he really cared about: the food. He found such a space on Larimer Street, a former BBQ joint with a great oak bar on one side of the room. That massive bar remains the focal point of the dining room, and it's also the best place to experience Osaka's food.... More »
