Upon first visit, Trinity Hall seems like just another faux-Irish Pub, of which there are many in North Texas. But what sets Trinity Hall apart from the others is that it's run by an actual Irish dude. There is a huge selection beer, and a Scotch menu that is intimidating to the faint-of-heart, and weak-of-wallet. It's not your typical sports bar, but Trinity Hall is the perfect place to watch soccer. They screen games from the World Cup and the English Premier League. Drop by one Saturday, order a Guinness and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Is it looking like it might just be you and a twelver of light beer tonight? Got nowhere to be in the morning? Well, Trinity Hall Irish Pub at Mock...
The new English Premier League season kicks off this weekend, and what better excuse can there possibly be for getting down to a bar, drinking the cheapest beer you can find and joining in some incohe... More »

Mike Snider's AllGood Cafe clearly has a thing for our state's capitol. The little placards announcing the upcoming dinnertime shows at the Deep Ellum mainstay proudly boast that a trip to the AllGood is like a trip to Austin, "without having to go through Waco," no offense to Waco, we guess. Fitting, then, that the best thing on the menu (yes, ahead of the chicken-fried steak, even) is the so-called "South Austin Migas." The AllGood's version of the classic Tex-Mex breakfast item pairs... More »
Trinity Hall is easily one of the most welcoming bars in Dallas, thanks largely to its progressive, non-smoking environment. (Guess what, naysayer, you know where else you can't smoke in pubs? That's right, Ireland.) This pub boasts a handsomely designed interior in a choice piece of Mockingbird Station real estate, not to mention its tasty menu and incredible whiskey selection. Sunday nights the bar hosts the decidedly old-school Sunday Night Pub Quiz, complete with pencils, paper and a... More »
You like to be in the theater before the lights dim for the previews. Your companion doesn't mind missing the first few minutes of the movie. That leaves you waiting--hoping--for 10, 15, 20 minutes. Don't stand in the Angelika's lobby, tapping your foot and checking your watch every 30 seconds. Go next door to Trinity Hall; it's OK, you can see the theater from there. Have a beer, or maybe a whiskey is more suitable for calming your anxiety, and perhaps there's time for chips and curry or... More »
Trinity Hall is easily one of the most welcoming bars in Dallas, thanks largely to its progressive, non-smoking environment. (Guess what, naysayer, you know where else you can't smoke in pubs? That's right, Ireland.) This pub boasts a handsomely designed interior in a choice piece of Mockingbird Station real estate, not to mention its tasty menu and incredible whiskey selection. Sunday nights the bar hosts the decidedly old-school Sunday Night Pub Quiz, complete with pencils, paper and a real life, flesh-and-blood dude calling out questions. Generic, piped-in satellite trivia this isn't. And since most of the questions aren't multiple choice, it's not exactly easy either. The drinking part's a breeze though.
Kind of an odd location in Mockingbird Station, but that doesn't matter once you walk in. Place is decorated in rich, dark wood and the selection of whiskey and beer is great. Yummy food, too - I highly recommend the fish and chips. Grab a patio table on nice nights and you'll be treated to some interesting people watching.
