Description
The blossoming of East 17th Avenue that started with the EZE Mop retail development has continued with Tree Haus Bistro, which occupies a Victorian house and garden right by the retail stores. Although Tree Haus opened with the idea of serving lunch and coffee to those who work at businesses and hospitals in the neighborhood, it definitely has room to grow. There are intimate upstairs rooms in the house for private parties, and a lovely garden out front where the season could be extended with heat lamps. And there are also plans to add beer, wine, tapas and desserts to the menu once Tree Haus gets its liquor license. For now, though, owner Elizabeth Lahey and her son, Xavian, who's managing the place, are content to put down roots in the neighborhood.
