This Austin import is responsible, in large part, for the "gourmet taco" trend – although Torchy's Tacos keeps its tacos low-end on purpose, as with the Trailer Park taco. It's filled with fried chicken and green chiles, and can be made "trashy" by adding queso on request. Better are the standard beef fajita tacos and the cheap, filling breakfast tacos...which are served all day long.

A darn shame that the Houston Torchy's doesn't live up to the reputation. It's all show and no go.
