It's been seven years since Ron Lynch, along with Craig Anton, launched Tomorrow!, the wildly unpredictable midnight comedy show at the Steve Allen Theater. Brendon Small soon was added as host, and the show quickly gained a reputation for anything-goes comic experimentation. Neil Hamburger, Demetri Martin, plus a slew of variety acts -- knife thrower, sword swallower, opera singer -- will help celebrate the big 0-6. Says Lynch, "Highlights for me have been co-hosting with people I am a fan of, like John C. Reilly, Scott Thompson, creating stuff on the fly. We've had great comics, but what stands out are the unique variety acts. These two Japanese girls were pretty phenomenal. They danced and changed costumes, mimed a soap opera scene all to a medley of pop tunes. One time we had Jack Dagger on the show, who was throwing his knives at his lovely assistant, who was holding a balloon in her mouth, and when he was done I came on holding an extra balloon, and next thing I know, I am holding the balloon in MY mouth and letting him throw a knife to pop it!" And what about those devoted night owls who regularly come to the show? "The Tomorrow! audience is special. They like to be out late, which makes them open to weirder, edgier stuff. They are very supportive, love to participate, always bring friends to check out the show. The best audience in L.A." That would be you!
