Nearing its third decade in business, TK Bitterman's on West Alabama has more than a little history in its walls. The bar has been a neighborhood staple for almost 25 years, and before that a Chinese restaurant, dry cleaner and a few other bars - including Rudyard's, before that bar moved to its present location on Waugh. Bitterman's folklore states that the building also housed a brothel upstairs, but that's mostly on the down-low. Today it's a homey, Chicago-centric watering hole with all kinds of Cubs and Ernie Banks paraphernalia on the walls - the owner is from the Windy City - but Astros fans are tolerated too.
