Description
This is a chain steak palace out of Dallas (and aligned with Cantina Laredo, its next-door-neighbor in the Midtown plaza). Dramatic drum lights and leatherette booths plus tables with warm woods and a double-sided fireplace decorate the Legends dining room; heavy curtains surround high-backed banquettes in the Palm Room. The bar's cozy, with a look at the wine wall and plenty of tables and booths. Big prime steaks, including a bone-in rib eye, prime rib, chops, some sandwiches, and a few seafood selections draw the carnivores. Except for prime rib and tenderloin tips, the menu is ala carte, with favorite steakhouse sides offered: onion rings, a wedge salad, onion soup, six-cheese potatoes and the signature off-the-cob creamed corn. They boast a huge 3,000-bottle wine cellar, with emphasis on domestic Cabernets, but include a large list of half-bottles as well. The bar has a big martini list. Texas pecan cake and bread pudding are finales that have loyal fans addicted.
