Description

The first thing to notice about Thieves is that the whiskey selection is no joke, from the Irish to the bourbon to the single malt scotch. There are even wooden cubbies to house the whiskey varieties, lit dramatically by halogen. The ambiance in the rest of the full-service bar is just as flattering, with a dim, warm wash over the booths that run parallel to the bar and a greenish glow from the digital jukebox cast over the two pool tables. This bar gets crowded on the weekends, but keeps a lively-yet-mellow pace during the weekdays. At each booth is an elegantly carved table of lacquered planks of dark wood knots. Above the booths hang artwork by local artists, and above the bar are two flat-screen TVs showing sports. And taking the place of a corner round table and in lieu of a vintage photo booth is a digital booth for those seeking instant gratification.
