Description
A hip, brick-walled gastropub with a New York atmosphere and a menu that occasionally changes with the seasons. The food is meant to go with alcohol, though, with items like beer-battered fish & chips, truffle mac & cheese, and a cheddar burger. Brunch is offered on weekends, along with the full regular menu. There are literally dozens of special beers, microbrews and drafts listed on large chalkboards on the brick walls of the bar, with special drafts that change daily. The York is very much a neighborhood bar, bringing in a loyal crowd from the northeast side of L.A. Many of the musicians who perform on the club's tiny stage, wedged into a corner near the front entrance, also hail from the area, giving the place a homey feel.
