Description

Triple Door's gorgeous, stately main stage might just be the best place in town to catch a show. Lots of venues only serve frozen wing-dings and nachos, but upstairs neighbor Wild Ginger caters the food here. You can order pan-Asian dishes-like black-pepper scallops and fresh mango pork-at bistro prices. Too bad they're a cut below what you'd get at the restaurant (stick to apps). However, the bartenders mix a great cocktail, and the waiters never stumble or get lost in the dark.

    Event Review: Sweet Honey In The Rock

    I have followed and loved Sweet Honey for many years. Their harmonies lift and amaze me. However, the energy and spirit I have come to expect from them was diminished last night. The performance felt unfocused and almost routine, and I missed the colorful garb that usually makes for a visual, as well as auditory feast. I came expecting a feast, and left feeling like I got a light lunch. Having said that, I'll show up to hear them again and again. They are simply unmatched in my experience!

    The Musicquarium at the Triple Door is a good place to get some dessert and listen to live music with friends.
