Description
A note on the menu of Addison's Social House claims that it's the first supper pub to come to the United States. That claim might be a hard sell for those who are already familiar with Addison's many pubs that also serve supper, but Social House does stand out in certain ways. The contrast between the dark wood of the furniture and the sandy-colored flagstone walls works nicely under the bar's low spot lighting. There are three separate bars in the Social House, one devoted to wine, one devoted to beer - with 50 on tap - and another where bartenders mix signature cocktails like the bourbon-based Mad Men. During supper, the flat-screen TVs on the wall show sharp images of classic art before yielding to sports later in the evening.
