The Sixth Ward is named after the slummy, Gangs of New York-inspiring neighborhood that existed in the L.E.S. of the 1800's. But aside from the bar's logo--the mug of an Irishman wearing a newsboy cap--the two have little in common: There is nothing sinister about the Sixth Ward. Located underground, the bar contains a pool-table room, TV screens aplenty, comely garden seating in the backyard, and a crowd that has forsaken skinny jeans. Come here to escape the rowdier happenings unfolding in the bars nearby.
