Any sports bar worth its salt shakers better make sure to take care of certain things. They better serve the beer cold, have more televisions than you can possibly ever watch, and offer a variety of chicken wings. The S Sports Bar does all these things well. Check out the 38 flat-screen, high-definition televisions. Or how about the Buffalo, Cajun BBQ, lemon pepper, and honey chipotle wings ($8 for 10, $12 for 20, $36 for 50)? But where the sports bar really scores is in its not-so-common items. And by that, we mean appetizers like the escargot ($8), beef carpaccio ($7), and mussels ($7); salads like the Capreze Napolean with buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto; and entrees, including the braised lamb shank ($10) and the filet mignon au poivre (served in a creamy brandy sauces) ($24). The extensive and eclectic menu is a welcome surprise considering that the bar is mostly populated by college-age kids. That's good or bad depending upon your point of view but it means you better take your identification if you want to get a drink as they are strict on checking it. Like any college hangout they play the music loud at S Sports Bar which might discourage families at certain times. But they also offer up DJs spinning music and other entertainment options.
