The neo-vintage trend reaches its apogee at this East Village crowd-pleaser. Edison bulbs and tea lights cast a warm glow over rustic wooden everything. In case you didn't know, a penny-farthing is one of those antiquated bicycles with one humongous wheel and one tiny wheel that you might find in a silent movie. Representations of it are everywhere, in the form of countless curios and the restaurant's logo. The menu is like a list of comfort food greatest hits: upscale Black Angus burgers, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, fish and chips, fried calamari and Buffalo wings. The 16-strong beer list includes everything from Bud Light to Brooklyn Lager and almost every bottle on the international wine list is under $30. Don't worry about long waits, either; the space is huge, featuring two floors, including the main dining room and the downstairs party cellar.
