Description
The Little Woody is as quaint as each of the tiny, ornamental owls perched along the ceiling, and twice as charming. Many a proud tree gave its life to create the Arcadia bar’s aesthetically eclectic and wood-heavy upscale design that’s the result of cross-pollinating a speakeasy and ski lodge, with a bit of the location’s former identity as dive bar The Great Escape thrown in for good measure. A woodpile-like design of stacked juniper logs covers most of walls in the main room, a slab or arboreal matter serves as a table, and a funky scarlet glow illuminates the bar top and those huddled nearby. While a hullabaloo of social rites takes, it isn’t as the frenetic as the activity in the neighboring game room, where a vintage shuffleboard game, two skee-ball machines, and foosball. Each is constantly in use, either by meet-cute couples or packs of friends staging a showdown. There’s little chance of ever being bored at The Little Woody.
