Description
The Kitchen [Next Door] takes the the farm-to-table mantra introduced at the Kitchen in 2004 and applies it to a fast-casual concept, which features a board of snacks, soups (the tomato soup already famous at the Kitchen), sandwiches (including roast lamb) and salads -- with not a single item priced higher than $9. That list is paired with draft beer -- like Ska's Modus Hoperandi and Dry Dock Brewing's Apricot Blond -- and wine in kegs, including a proprietary red and a white. There's also a sizable kids' menu, tested by local fourth-graders; [Next Door] is working to grow the Kitchen's involvement in school gardens.
