There's plenty of charm that awaits at this Glendale dive, for those lucky enough to stumble upon its location in the far corner of a Bell Road strip mall. But once found, however, The Hoot Owl -- in business for more than 20 years -- rewards with pitchers of domestic beer priced competitively with a single bottle of a fancy craft brew at other local bars. The rock bottom price of drinks means more money for the jukebox. A single billiards table takes up a considerable amount of the tiny space -- if this were a classified ad for an apartment, it'd be called "cozy." If you're in line for pool table, get your name up on the chalkboard. If you're in line for karaoke on the weekends, good luck impressing the regulars -- they've seen any number of singers come and go, and they'll alternately heckle and ignore whoever's up on stage without qualm.
