Description

Steve Selfridge has created what might be Houston's most underrated - and therefore perfect - dive bar way out west on Dunvale at Richmond. You can smoke cigars on the sprawling patio. You can order ten-pound buckets of crawfish in season. You can eat a whole lobster or a steak-and-baked-potato on the cheap during certain nightly specials. And you can usually see some excellent blues and and classic rock cover bands while you're chowing down. Better yet - even if you don't bring a friend, you'll likely have made a few by the time you leave.

That their kitchen's open for other stuff until 1 a.m., and that they have live bands on weekends,... More »

The Hideaway is the Premier Roadhouse in West Houston offering great food and live music at affordable prices. The Hideaway attracts the Inner and Outer Loop party crowds. Home to Houston's best Steak night on Tuesdays and Saturdays with plenty of convenient parking and a large outside deck for Cigar and Cigarette smokers.

Come experience The LONE STAR HIPPIE Friday February 11th at The Hideaway on Dunvale. "Texas Psychedelic Souled Rock-N-Roll" Frontman and singer/songwriter Mike Morris, is also the drummer for renowned world touring Zydeco musician C.J. Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band. Lone Star Hippie's debut self titled album "Lone Star Hippie" was produced by the engineer who recorded The 13th Floor Elevators album "Easter Everywhere" along with many of the Texas Psychedelic groups of the 1960's including The Golden Dawn, Bubble Puppy, Red Krayola, (Billy Gibbons pre ZZ-Top band) The Moving Sidewalks, Lost & Found, even blues legend Lightnin' Hopkins. Lone Star Hippie is a very ecclectic band of musicians, with a wide variety of musical styles for everyone's liking. From Rock to Texas Blues and Country, Hip Trippy Psychedelics to Soulful ballads. Lone Star Hippie becomes a favorite everywhere they play.
