The Harp Inn touts itself as "the most authentic Irish pub in Costa Mesa." Such claims are so often ballast, but the Irish-accented bartender, dark- green walls, European soccer games playing on the TVs, and an emphasis on Guiness and whiskey back the claims the Harp Inn makes. The three-sided bar sits near the back of the room and showcases a wide variety of whiskeys and other liquors. There are 18 beers on tap including Newcastle, Smithwicks, Stella and Boddingtons. All are served in 20 oz. glasses, because as the bar boasts, size matters. There is also a small selection of wines and champagnes. A single dartboard sits in the back, and next to the front door is a small stage that regularly hosts live bands Thursdays through Sundays. The Harp Inn features a large outdoor patio that looks out onto the relative seclusion of its location on an odd corner on 17th Street.
