The Green Pepper is like a chic Lover's Egg Roll. There's the stand-up menu and counter service and the same mishmash of Asian food (Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese). But there's also the option to sit down with handheld menus. Unlike Lover's, though, The Green Pepper's food is super-fresh, not processed. The vegetarian dishes were the biggest hits, and there are plenty of options for non-meat eaters--from deep-fried chunks of tofu served with a spicy sauce to simple veggie and tofu soup. The Vietnamese spring rolls were especially good, plump and bursting with fresh herbs and accompanied by a creamy peanut sauce.
