Description

Chef Julie Farias has taken the helm in the kitchen, keeping the same menu format of small-to-medium-size dishes, but reducing the number and improving some of them. Thus, a dull beet salad has been rendered interesting though the use of shaved raw beets and cooked beets minced up like ground beef. Pork still commands center stage, via a heap of peppercorn-dotted ribs in a sweet glaze, candied bacon, a pressed pork sandwich, pork meatballs in tomato sauce, and a new salad of chorizo, potatoes, and bitter greens, the latter indicative of new Mexican directions the menu is likely to take, including weekend barbacoa. The airy double dining room is a neighborhood favorite, just down the street from Ft. Greene Park.
