You won't find any madmen or mental patients sharing spirits inside this West Valley cocktail lounge, just an interesting mix of neighborhood drinkers and local Latinos. The Valley is a massive melting pot of Hispanic and Anglo cultures, and the Funny Farm is a prime spot to witness cultural commingling. The Farm once functioned as a cozy corner dive bar but has since evolved into a discoteca and lounge, providing patrons with the best of both worlds. Dollar bills are stapled above the bar, as they are in many a watering hole; only at this bar, those bank notes are scribbled with regulars' names and salacious sayings en español. Virgin Mary statues and other Catholic trinkets are arranged on a corner shelf next to vintage beer signs, and the jukebox contains both cumbias and classic rock hits. The señorita servers also pop the tops off such cervezas as Tecate and old-fashioned American suds such as Budweiser.
