The exterior looks like a bookstore or a library with books in the window. Oh, and there's that velvet rope thing just in case you would have missed it otherwise. A friend hooked me up here so although I can't really imagine coming here w/o having a table, I'm not sure what the protocol is for reserving one (probably bottle service?). And you do want a table, because it's a very narrow space and it's nice to have a reprieve now and then from the dance floor/hallway. Sometimes a live sax player jams along to the DJ spinning late 80's/early 90's hip-hop, and there's a hot chick bartender who serves perfectly chilled tequila shots. Nice.
