Located on 28th Street and Collins Avenue, Cucu's Nest Bar is just north of busy and glitzy South Beach. Inside, a stretch of comfy black couches is conveniently separated from the bar by low tables. The juke box features rock and pop hits, and there's an electronic machine for those who like to play card games. The pool table is a great place to mingle and improve your game. The staff is efficient, and the intimate atmosphere encourages making new friends. Live bands and DJs play a wide-range of music -- from reggae to rock. Cucu's Nest opens at 2 p.m. and stays open until 5 a.m.

There are seedy, dive bars and there are SEEDY, DIVE BARS. The CuCu's Nest Bar on 28th Street and Collins Ave on Miami Beach is one of those places where you feel comfortable in right away and you never know who you will run into there. The Cu-Cu's Nest has attitude, and as such doesn't really attract a lot of tourists. The bartenders are no-nonsense and unless you're a regular aren't going to bother chatting with you. But they work fast and make good drinks, which is all anyone who would frequent this place should care about anyway. No one would describe this place as "clean," whether they are talking about its physical appearance, its moral stature or the people who populate it on a regular basis. But what it is is classic. You go, you drink, you drink some more and you stumble home. The service is always good, even if it's not overly friendly. If you came here to drink and not to socialize then The Cu-Cu's Nest Bar will make you feel right at home. With their new Specialty nights like MAYDAY!, Starting SATURDAY MAY 1st.
