Bar fare doesn't always have to be just burgers and fries. Not that the restaurant doesn't have burgers; it does, both a standard one and a salmon burger, but it's the more upscale dishes that catch the eye. Pan-fried sole, seared sashimi-grade tuna and more all share space on the menu with more traditional pub grub like chicken pot pie and fish and chips. Its location guarantees a good mix of tourists tired from walking the city to Murray Hill residents looking for a relaxed place to drink. Belly up to the bar and order one of the eight beers on tap, ranging from Smithwick's to Miller Lite, or try one of the international wines by the glass or bottle. During warm weather, the sidewalk seating can be quite pleasant, with thatched chairs spread out under a large awning. The interior is cozy, all red brick and vintage mirrors, lit by hanging string lights and a roaring fireplace.— Keith Wagstaff
