This upscale coffee joint is housed inside a re-purposed maintenance garage. It sounds a little random but its really not considering that The Coffee Shop sits on the grounds of Agritopia, the urban farm oasis in Gilbert. Inside the coffee house you'll find a spacious place with great natural lighting. Order up one of their many specialty coffee drinks – might we suggest the Black and White, which comes with espresso, milk, white and milk chocolate and whipped cream – and enjoy the indoor seating or the outdoor patio. If you make a trip out to this spot it's worth the extra calories to pick up one of their famous cupcakes, made from scratch and always as pretty to look at as they are eat. They also have a breakfast menu, fresh pastries and plenty of sandwich options to please even the most picky pallets.

We were going down to San Tan Hyundai this morning and wanted to stop at a place in the area. This one had some good reviews so we decided to check it out. I'm glad we did! The atmosphere was nice, typical one-off coffee shop with just a little funk. It was busy, which is always a good sign.
The food was good, I got the Imperial omelette which had bacon, spinach, and swiss in it. My companion got the Santa Fe open faced omelette which had bacon, potatoes, cheddar, feta, sour cream, and green onions. He was also quite pleased with his entree. It was served with mixed greens which were tossed in a nice vinaigrette. The name "The Coffee Shop" implies that they would specialize in coffee, but the real star here are the baked goods. The coffee was definitely good, but nothing to write home about. The cupcake we shared, however, was amazing! We got the coconut cupcake and were rewarded with a flavorful and slightly dense cake, which I loved. It tasted like it had a little bit of almond extract in it which only added to the depth of flavor. The icing was sweet but not overpoweringly so, and it was decorated adorably with shredded coconut and edible glitter. We got two whoopie pies to go, one lemon, and one coconut. Both of these were delicious as well. I would go back if only for the cupcakes!
This upscale espresso emporium, located next door to the bucolic Joe's Farm Grill, offers the same variety of caffeinated beverages you'd find at any other coffee house around the Valley (lattes, blended drinks, iced mochas). But that's where the similarities end, as The Coffee Shop is far superior to your corner java joint. It's overflowing with high-styled décor and aesthetic touches with nary any shabby-chic furnishings, with (gasp) friendly baristas, who almost look like models instead of starving artists and who warmly greet patrons as they enter, pouring quality gourmet coffees with a smile instead of a sneer. The pastries available for purchase aren't just ordinary muffins or scones. They are made-from-scratch chic treats such as lemon glam cupcakes with flower-like swirls of frosting. A full menu of epicurean breakfast and lunch selections will also please your gourmand tastes. Surrounding the outdoor patio is a lush nursery of plants and flowers for sale, offering shade to suburbanites thumbing through copies of Vogue, GQ, and House Beautiful, looking for their own 'topia.
On the grounds of Agritopia (home of Joe's Farm Grill) in Gilbert, The Coffee Shop is a sanctuary from run-of-the-mill strip-mall coffee joints. Set in a beautifully repurposed maintenance garage, the spacious modern building has tons of natural light and plenty of seating. The baristas behind the counter whip up fantastic iced lattes and specialty drinks, including the Black and White -- a unique blend of espresso, steamed milk, white chocolate, and milk chocolate topped with a healthy...
