Visit the Cliff Restaurant & Bar in Laguna and get an idea of what Jimmy Buffett was singing about in the song Margaritaville. Literally perched atop an ocean cliff and adjacent to PCH, this spot affords sweeping ocean vistas in addition to salty, chilly tequila-based cocktails. The barroom is small and octagonal in shape, with a concrete floor and several small tables, above which hang under a couple of surfboards. The windows and doors are usually opened to allow the summer breeze to flood through while ceiling fans twirl overhead. The bar serves a small selection of draft beers such as Drifter and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale as well as Shock Top. On a sunny day, sit out on the patio under blue umbrellas and enjoy the view of sun worshipers below, and squadrons of pelicans above.
